Itinerary

Embark on an afternoon game drive in Amboseli after an early morning start and drive to Amboseli National Park.

Upon arrival, check in at the accommodation and enjoy lunch before the afternoon safari.

Amboseli National Park, located south of Nairobi, predominantly features a dry, ancient lake bed and delicate grassland interspersed with acacia woodland.

The southern region boasts small, rocky, volcanic hills, while the swamps around Ol Kenya, Ol Tukai, and Enkongo Narok showcase lush vegetation with yellow-barked acacias and phoenix palms.

Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at a campsite or lodge

Commencing the day early to capture stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro before the summit becomes cloaked in clouds, a packed lunch is provided for the journey. Following breakfast, you have the option to embark on a captivating visit to a Masai village. This immersive experience offers insight into the daily lives and sacred rituals of the Masai people, featuring their traditional singing and dancing. Exploring their homes and social structure provides a moving encounter with their rich culture.

Despite the ever-changing habitat, Amboseli National Park stands out as perhaps the premier wildlife area in all of Africa for witnessing elephants up close. With the elephants undisturbed by poachers, observing these majestic creatures feeding and bathing in the swamps proves to be a highlight of any safari.

Conclude the day with a delightful dinner and a restful overnight stay at a campsite or lodge, surrounded by the enchanting landscapes of Amboseli.

Embark on an early morning drive to Lake Naivasha, the highest and most picturesque of the Rift Valley lakes. Positioned at an elevation of 1910m (6200ft), the lake boasts fresh water and is surrounded by dense clusters of papyrus, once used by ancient Egyptians to make paper. Kingfishers perch on the papyrus, while herons use it as cover while hunting for food. Lake Naivasha is a renowned destination for bird watching, with over 400 species recorded. It serves as a popular weekend retreat for Nairobi residents, who engage in activities such as sailing, water skiing, and fishing.

The lake's cold waters, due to its altitude, make it unsuitable for crocodiles, but it is home to a population of hippos. Along the lake shore, vineyards contribute to the country's growing wine industry.

Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at a campsite or lodge. Additionally, a boat ride on Lake Naivasha is included in the itinerary.

Alternatively, for a change of scenery, you have the option to opt for a game drive in Lake Nakuru instead of Lake Naivasha.

Embark on an afternoon game drive in Maasai Mara, a renowned wildlife reserve. In the early morning, set out for Maasai Mara National Reserve, a stronghold for wildlife that continues to exist in relatively undisturbed conditions. It stands as one of the few places on Earth where animals thrive in numbers reminiscent of the past when they freely roamed the plains and forests of Africa. Positioned at the northern tip of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, Maasai Mara is witness to the breathtaking seasonal migration of thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and the predators that follow them. Arrive in time for lunch and proceed to enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at a campsite or lodge.

Additionally, consider these extra tour options:
Hot Air Balloon Safari
Visit to a Maasai Village

After breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive with a provided packed lunch. The reserve is renowned for its black-manned lions, showcasing abundant resident wildlife. It stands out as one of the rare places where encountering the big five is possible during a morning game drive. Notably, some cheetahs display a remarkable level of tameness, seeking shelter from the hot sun under vehicles, with a few even venturing onto the roof for an enhanced view of potential prey.

For bird enthusiasts, the reserve boasts a rich avian diversity, with nearly 500 species recorded. This includes 16 species of eagles, along with numerous hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, 4 species of bustards (including the Kori bustard, the world's heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sunbirds.

Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at a campsite or lodge, surrounded by the captivating landscapes of the reserve.
